I've just completed a diptych (other one is currently drying), as part of a new series (being created simultaneously with the ongoing "Tendrils" series).
I'm loving my Tendrils; they are teaching me a good deal about color relationships, color mixing, and creating mood and atmosphere through color. BUT they require a great deal of precision and I find I'm missing the freedom of expression that comes from having a larger expanse of canvas to simply draw over (albeit "drawing" with paint coming from a squeeze bottle). So I've decided to revisit my earlier "Pool" series, this time in tones of red, and this is the beginning.
This one is titled "Cascade, Crimson 1" ; it is acrylic on canvas, 40" H x 30" W.
