New color

Another triptych almost completed. This is the first time I've ever used purple, but I wanted to have a triptych in each color of the spectrum.

At first I made all three the same color purple, with tonal differences. But they looked too similar, so I brushed each with additional colors: the first canvas with turquoise, the second with alizarin crimson, and the third with cerulean blue. Just enough variation to make the mix interesting, not so much that they diverge too far from one another and still hold together as a group. (Each canvas is 20 inches square.)
