Solo show opens soon

I am excited to present a solo show titled "Ornamental" at the School of Fashion Design, 136 Newbury Street in Boston. The exhibit will run from April 10 to May 10, with a reception open to the public on Friday, April 28, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

During the reception, scheduled as part of ArtWeek Boston, I will give a talk on my creative career, which began as a graduate of the School of Fashion Design, and explain how that experience led to my current work as a professional artist.

The show will include works from my "Filigree" series, most of which are being exhibited for the very first time. The shapes in this series are inspired by expansive, looping forms such as fiber weaves, calligraphic marks, and natural shapes like roots and vines.

The School of Fashion Design is open Monday and Friday 9 AM to 4 PM, Tuesday to Thursday 9 AM to 9 PM, and Saturday 9 AM to 3 PM. More information is available at CatherineCarterPainting.com.
